We're off to jazzahead!

From 11 to 13 April, the Lithuanian Jazz Union (LDF) is representing the country's jazz composers, performers and community at jazzahead! in Bremen (Germany), the world's largest and most important jazz fair.

This year the Lithuanian delegation is a record size, with as many as 11 performers and representatives of the Lithuanian jazz industry:

LDF President and Jazz Cellar 11 artistic director Dmitrijus Golovanovas; LDF Board Chair and JJAZZ ensemble manager Dorotėja Būdaitė; LDF Board members, saxophonists Karolis Šarkus and Tadas Pasaravičius, and young-generation drummer Dovydas Šulskis; jazz vocalists Veronika ChiChi and Viktorija Pilatovič; trombonist Jievaras Jasinskis; pianist Agnė Pasaravičienė; and young-generation trumpeter Apolinaras Duvauskas and saxophonist Davit Avetisyan.

For the first time, the Lithuanian delegation has joined forces with the Latvian Music Information Centre and Music Estonia for a joint stand.

On 12 April at 2 pm, the official reception "Baltic Happy Hour" will take place at the stand of the three Baltic countries.

The Lithuanian Jazz Union's participation in jazzahead! is funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture. The project is also supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Germany and by the Pakruojis Manor distillery (Pakruojo Dvaro spirito varykla), which is providing refreshments for the Lithuanian reception at the stand on 12 April at 2 pm.
